Survey Monster Review
by David Harris
Survey Monster found at surveymonster.net, is a get paid to take surveys site.
Which is to say it’s more of a portal that advertises their 3rd party clients’ survey sites you go to in order to take their surveys.
As Survey Monster states in their disclaimers – always read disclaimers – there is no guarantee that you will earn any money using their system.
I will tell you why that is, even though they leave that part out.
Since you have to leave the Survey Monster site to take those surveys, you also have to get paid from all those different sites separately.
There are a few issues with that.
One issue is that most of these 3rd party sites have a minimum payout cap before you can get your rewards, gift cards, and if you’re lucky, paid through PayPal.
Sure, Survey Monster can send you to a bunch of different survey sites and you may be able to qualify for some of the surveys but they are not all on the same site.
When you consider all those minimum capped hoops you jump through, it may be quite a while before you run into a previous site you took a survey on.
When you also consider that some of these surveys don’t pay out much more than $2 to $5 per survey, it may take considerable time before you get anything from any of them.
This is no kind of sensible way to make money or hope for points and gift cards, much less make a living on, as Survey Monster would have you believe on their front page.
That, of course, is intentional on their part.
Another issue is that some of these 3rd party clients actually deal with product trial testing.
Many of these charges a fee to either join or to pay for the products to test, which is ridiculous.
However, Survey Monster is not responsible for anything outside their site.
So good luck getting refunds or figuring out who to get them from.
Especially when you can’t remember what was what.
If you’ve done a bunch of them, keeping track of it all can be a very daunting task.
Then another issue is spending lots of time signing up for each 3rd party’s site membership opt-ins, sometimes paying a fee to join.
Some even go as far as to ask for your social security number.
The worst part about those is that many people forget to return the products in a timely manner and then get charged the full amount, which is far more than anything you would be making for testing their products in the first place.
If any of this does not bother you then, by all means, have fun as your hobby with Survey Monster.
I won’t call it a scam, but I definitely won’t recommend using their service.
I do, however, recommend “Survey Junkie” as it is a much better option…
